L3 Media Studies project 

For my project I have chosen to review the TV show ‘Rick and Morty’. In this TV show there are many characters that are voiced by different actors. Here is a list of the main characters and who they are voiced by.

·        Rick Sanches – Voiced by Justin Roiland. His character is pretty much the main character in the show alongside Morty. Rick is a scientific genius that is lead to believe to be an alcoholic. He loves going on adventures interdimentional adventures with Morty.

·        Morty Smith – also voiced by Justin Roiland. Morty is Ricks 14 year old grandson that gets dragged into Ricks crazy adventures.

·        Beth Smith – Voiced by Sarah Chalke. She is Ricks daughter, mother to Morty and Summer Smith.

·        Jerry Smith – voiced by Chris Parnell. This is Morty and Summer’s father. He doesn’t like Rick and thinks he is a bad influence on his family.

·        Summer Smith – Voiced by Spencer Grammer. Summer is 17 years old. She doesn’t get talked into going with Rick and Morty on their adventures until the second season.

The show was created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon and was composed by Ryan Elder. The executive producers are Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, James A. Fino, Joe Russo II (S1-2). The producers are J. Michael Mendel and Kenny Micka.

Rick and Morty is available to watch on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, Youtube and Rudu. It’s also available on the official Rick and Morty website. Season 1-2 is available to watch on Netflix.

Rick and Morty is an American adult animated science fiction sitcom that is based on the adventures of Doc and Mharti from Back to the Future film Trilogy. It focuses on the main characters Rick and Morty that go on life threatening but fun adventures together to different planets and dimentions using a portal or Ricks flying car.

In my opinion Rick and Morty is a brilliant TV show. It has become extremely popular recently and it is very successful. It’s very amusing and easy to watch, especially getting to know the relationship between Rick and Morty because they have a very hilarious one. The ideas that the writers have to create for each episode is very impressive, they literally have a new adventure with every new episode. It has a strong plot behind it and the script is clever and very funny. I personally find the idea of alternate realities really creative because of how consistent the story of the show is.

I think that everyone should give Rick and Morty a go, it’s funny and entertaining to watch. People of all ages can watch it, I think everyone can appreciate it on some level. It’s very original so I would recommend it to people that want to watch something new and different.
